Tatis made his MLB debut on March 28, 2019, quickly establishing himself as a dynamic player with a .317 batting average, 22 home runs, and 53 RBIs in his rookie season. In the 2020 season, he helped lead the Padres to the playoffs, earning a Silver Slugger Award. In 2021, Tatis was named an All-Star and earned his second Liver Slugger Award. Tatis was again an All-Star in 2024 and played a key role in the 2024 postseason, hitting the first home run of the playoffs and finishing with four home runs in five games.
